Jay Staunton  has spent 25 years at the nexus of business, policy, and corporate communications, providing public messaging and brand awareness strategies to C-level executives and companies in the professional services, healthcare, and technology industries.

Jay started his career as a journalist, and later worked as an attorney litigating securities fraud cases in state and federal courts. He also served as policy counsel to a leading member of the U.S. Congress. During his time on Capitol Hill, Roll Call newspaper named him one of the “10 congressional staffers you most want next to you in a political knife fight.” Jay also served as Communications Director (North America) for Latham & Watkins, the third-largest law firm in the world. 

Since 2010, Jay has focused exclusively on professional services, providing strategy, PR, and government affairs services to companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 global corporations. He has served in leadership roles at some of the world’s leading PR firms, including as VP at Weber Shandwick and Managing Director at LEWIS/Davis Murphy Group. While at Greenough Communications, a boutique PR firm in Boston, Jay started the first-ever practice vertical devoted exclusively to Clean Technology companies. His client experiences include: Imprivata, Demandware, Merck Serono, TimeTrade, DayPitney, Goodwin Procter, and GT Advanced Technologies. 

Jay earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Middlebury College and his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. He currently lives outside Boston with his wife and two children.
